ENSchool 2009 is currently in the planning stages, we will be posting more information about the schedule and how to register by October 2008.

ENSchool 2007 will provide a complete introduction to modern electroless nickel plating. It will be presented from an independent, non-proprietary viewpoint and will cover all aspects of electroless technology and practice. The course is intended both for those experienced with electroless nickel and those new to the field. The information provided will be equally useful for those who use, specify, and apply the coating.

ENSchool 2007 will span four days, and will include 28 hours of unbiased instruction and technology transfer by some of the foremost experts in the field. It will include both theoretical and practical aspects to provide a complete overview of the subjectThe course will cover Ni-P coatings from baths reduced with sodium hypophosphite, Ni-B deposits from baths reduced with DMAB or sodium borohydride, as well as the codeposition of non-metals and PTFE. It will include coatings applied to common and less common metals, as well as plastics and ceramics.

The course will consider all facets of the coating, including:

• The chemistry, operation, and control of electroless nickel plating solutions
• Pretreatments of metals and non-metals for electroless nickel plating
• Equipment design and use for electroless nickel plating
• The properties of different coatings, and their advantages and limitations
• Marketing of the coatings
• Quality assurance, specifications, and SPC for the coatings
• Waste treatment of the solutions from electroless nickel operations
